THE THEATRICAL METAPHOR IN WEB AUTHORING

In multimedia authoring software such as Director,

• the sequence of frames is called the 'score' ('scénario' in French),
• the elements used (pictures, texts, buttons...) are called 'the cast',
• and the designer places them on a 'stage' (lower left corner) similar to the frame the user wil see ;
• the events are caused by 'scripts':

these are notions derived from the theatre.
