CLOUDS FOR SCIENTISTS AND ARTISTS |
|
In the early 19th century, Luke Howard applied the principles of classification to clouds: the evanescent was becoming a topic of scientific study. His work was known to Goethe and his terminology is still in use. In the exhibition 'Watch this Space' at the Design Museum in London in 2004, Luke Howard's classification of clouds was seen as an example of information theory. |
